Our history: Tradition that comes from the heart
Genuine hospitality has been a family affair here for decades. Back in 1972, Georg and Günter Asemann laid the foundations for our hotel, which opened its doors in 1976 as the “Hotel Garni Planegg”. Through continuous modernisation and a great attention to detail – such as the construction of the new reception building, which connects our main building to the charming tower villa – the hotel has developed over the years into a modern haven of well-being. In 2018, we, Alexandra and Stefan Osterath, were privileged to take over the family’s life’s work and have been continuing this proud tradition ever since with fresh ideas and a great deal of passion.

Our history – an overview
- 1972: Founded by Georg & Günter Asemann; construction begins
- 1976: Opening of the hotel (then known as ‘Hotel Garni Planegg’)
- 1992: Günter Asemann becomes the sole owner (following the death of his father, Georg Asemann)
- 1993: complete refurbishment of the breakfast room and buffet area
- 1994: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms in the basement
- 1996: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms in the top floor
- 1998: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms on the ground floor
- 2001: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms on the first floor
- 2004: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms on the 2nd floor
- 2006: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms at the Turmvilla
- 2013: Construction of the new reception area and connection of the main building and the tower villa
- 2017: complete refurbishment of the hotel rooms in the basement
- 2018: Günter Asemann hands over the business to his daughter Alexandra Osterath and her husband Stefan Osterath
